1966 Start
Born 1. July.
1973- "Balleskolen" in Silkeborg, Denmark
10 year in public school at Balleskolen.
1983- "Handelsskolen" in Silkeborg, Denmark
1 year education (EFG Basis Year) in the area of Business and Office.
1984- Computer school in Århus, Denmark
2 year education as computer assistant.
At that time we started learning machine code and then Assembler, RPG, COBOL and so on.
Use of GO TO (COBOL) was not allowed in my class, so we learned structured programming the hard way.
We were the last class educated on UNIVAC 1100/60 mainframe, else it was a time with ICL COMET, Regnecentralens Picoline and Partner PC.
1986.08.01- Hafnia Administration
Working for insurance company Hafnia
as System constructor.
Different jobs in Hafnia from Middle ware programmer in Hafnia
User Service Center to Drifts programmer with
development tools (own developed Quality Assurance System) as special.
At the end I was used as unofficial "Oracle", meaning that I was
able of handling all kinds of problems
or redirect people to the right expert,
but it was not my official work. Some times this came to some conflicts, in the end I was looking for another job.
This period gives me:
- Large all-round knowledge of IBM mainframe.
- Knowledge of CICS as transaction monitor.
- Knowledge of
COBOL, Oliver, AbendAid, PL/1, CLIST, SAS, AS, SDF, ISPF
1990.07.01- Scandinavian Airlines Data Denmark A/S (SAS Data)
Working for SAS Data as Software Architect, a position matching what I did ending in Hafnia.
Primary platform was IBM mainframe.
This period gives me:
- Knowledge of LU 6.2 (APPC) communication between OS/2 and IBM mainframe.
I have developed a LU 6.2 interface in C on OS/2.
- A solid knowledge of ISPF customization.
My work for the Terese project (IBM) gave me a good internal insight in ISPF.
With that I could develop a new customized ISPF environment, with many shortcuts and tools, making our developers work faster.
- A solid knowledge of programming with S/390 Assembler.
Most own developed middle ware in SAS Data was coded in Assembler.
One of the biggest areas of my work was an OPC alike tool.
- A solid knowledge of programming with REXX.
I have coded many ISPF tools for SAS Data in REXX, I have also knowledge of REXX from OS/2 and Windows.
- A solid knowledge of IMS as transaction monitor and database.
My special was service transactions to handle for example
print, communication between mainframes.
- A solid knowledge of IMS debugging tools.
TSO TEST, BTS, CA InterTest and Mainframe Express (MicroFocus).
- A solid knowledge of RACF as security system.
I have developed the software used to convert from an old own developed IMS security system to standard RACF.
Within this usage of LU 6.2 communication between TSO and IMS.
I have also been responsible for part of the software used to control and administrate application security within high performance IMS systems.
1995.07.01- Scandinavian Airlines Data Denmark A/S (SAS Data)
New organizations make me change to System programmer
in the drift department with IBM development environment and middle ware as special.
This be own developed software as standard software.
I see this change as a reward for the last 5 year work.
This period gives me:
In all year I have had the chance several times to attend
SHARE Technical Conference
in USA, must be the biggest conference within IBM mainframe in the world.
A single time also CA World.
1999.12.31-2000.01.01 Scandinavian Airlines Data Denmark A/S (SAS Data)
This new year I was on work as many others.
After 10 years work finding myself being key person, no way out.
Lucky for us we had done our work in time, no serious errors.
2000.12.01- Scandinavian IT Group
Same work, but new name.
2001.01.01- Scandinavian IT Group
I miss challenges in my work,
and put in a bid for a internal job as Distributed Developer with focus on UNIX.
I get the job and change department.
But it is only going to be UNIX in 1/2 year, then we start with Microsoft .NET and C#.
This period gives me:
- Education in UNIX, Tuxedo and PL/SQL
- Knowledge with UNISYS as mainframe platform
- Knowledge with RUP
- Knowledge with XVision against HP UNIX
Windows product handling remote X.
- Knowledge with Microsoft .NET
Education in C# and ASP.NET makes me able to develop application.
An earlier education in Java makes me adapt C# very fast.
2003.01.01-2003.12.31 Thailand, Phuket
Due to the negative situation within the airline industry,
we have to many computer people,
so I receive an offer from the company to take a year off work.
Read my diary.
2004.01.01-2004.01.31 Scandinavian IT Group
Working again in Denmark.
COBOL, DB2, SAS Institute.
2004.02.01-? CSC Airline Solutions
Scandinavian IT Group sold to CSC.
- Java programming using Eclipse
- Java programming using IBM WebSphere
- Oracle database work
- Crystal Reports 9
2007.09.10-? CSC Danmark A/S
Working as Network Security Engineer.
Future?
Hafnia, SAS, CSC and my leisure interests have given me a large knowledge within IT technology.
I feel today that I can work within all technical parts of IT.
I have proved that I can work on more than 1 platform.
My leisure time is used getting knowledge on new platforms (currently GNU/Linux).
My future shows many ways, which one should I choose ;-)
